【摘要】:Thistestmethodisadesigntooltoevaluatetheengagementbetweenthewindowandinsectscreenunderstaticloading.Theabilityofinsectscreenstoremainengageddependsonthemagnitude,duration,repetitionofloads,andthemethodofengagement.Theplatensizeandshapewerechosentopreventscreenclothdamageduringstaticloading.The60-sdurationwasarbitrarilychosentostandardizethistestmethod.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforevaluatingretentionofwovenscreenmeshtoascreenframe.Note18212;TheproceduredescribedinSMA/SMT31isonemethodthathasbeendevelopedforsuchevaluation.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforevaluatingretentionofsecurityorprotectionscreensusedasadeterrentagainstvandalismorforcedentry.Note28212;TheproceduredescribedinANSI/SMA6001isonemethodthathasbeendevelopedforsuchevaluation.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforevaluatingtheretentionofinsectscreensbeingusedasarestraintofoccupantswithinthebuildingasameansofpreventingaccidentalfalls.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforevaluatingretentionofinsectscreensfortheirabilitytowithstandimpactsfromwindbornedebrisasmightdevelopduringhurricanesorotherwindstormevents.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationofthestaticloadresistanceofaninsectscreeninitsfunctionalpositioninawindowunderloadconditionsprescribedbyappropriatespecifyingauthorities.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoinsectscreenslargerthan12in.(300mm)inleastdimensionthatcanbeaccessedfromboththeinteriorandexteriordirectionwhentheinsectscreenisinthefunctionalposition.1.3Thistestmethodevaluatesboththeinteriorandexteriorstaticloadresistanceoftheinsectscreenattachmenttothewindowframe.1.4Thistestmethoddescribestheapparatusandtheproceduretobeusedforapplyingstaticloadstospecimens.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
